My dear Jo,

You shared a story about your art teacher, Mr. T. You said that he asked the students to draw a self portrait and purposely walking around the class room and drew a mistake in each student's portrait, while saying "Oops".

He "made a mistake" on your picture by drawing a line on your face.

I know that you are afraid of making mistakes because "making a mistake" sounds like a terrible thing to do. Tell you what, at some point in our life, we will make a mistake. Big and small. Although it is wise to try to avoid making a mistake, but when it happens, I want you to embrace it, face it and learn from it. Because then, you will grow.

By making a mistake, you'll learn about your limits and capabilities, and how to turn that into something positive. Remember when we talked about how you can create something else from the "mistake" that Mr. T drew on your self portrait? You can turn that line into a flower, a star, an animal, anything that you can image. The best part of that "mistake"? You'll have a tattoo on your face! (Tho I don't recommend a real tattoo on your face!)

So my little, don't be afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes will help you grow and evolve.

"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." ~George Bernard Shaw

I love this letter - it's so true - we can embrace our mistakes to make them something beautiful and to learn and grow from them. Beautiful set of images too Debbie - thanks for sharing xx
