Dear Jo,

I worry. As your mom, it is my job. I worry for so many things that sometimes I think I am going cuckoo.

I worry about which school you are going to attend to after this one.
I worry if you'd be able to speak up to defend your idea or to protect yourself.
I worry if your soft, kind heart will lead people to using you.
I worry if you'd live your dream and be happy.
...and on, and on, and on...

But I listen to your stories. Stories about atmosphere that you are most comfortable at. Stories when have to make your own decisions. Stories about your passion and excitement. Stories when you decided you would be a mediator or when you needed to leave the space. And I know you are going to be just fine.

You will definitely learn different things in this growing up process. You will learn to deal and cope with different settings and feeling.

When I see you, I am reminded of the metamorphosis process of a caterpillar into a butterfly. When it is time for the caterpillar to become an adult, they find a sheltered, safe spot in which to transform into an adult.

I want you to know, that when that time comes, we will there to be your safe spot. To answer your questions. To hold your hands. To offer our shoulders if you need to cry. To lend you our ears. To help you see the light when things get dark.

We are your safe spot. We will always be. And you will be a fine, beautiful butterfly.

The Chorus: Time | New York Children Photography

The Chorus is a beautiful collaboration put together by Amy Grace. 

She described the project in the most beautiful way: "This is a project that has been burning a hole in my heart. We all sing our pure and shaky and earnest songs, to ourselves, our kids, our pasts. We sing because we need to hear our voices out loud, because it gets lonely sometimes, because it hurts, because the joy cannot fit in our bodies. Mothers are always and never alone. I want to focus on the never part. I want to hear the voices together. I want to start a chorus." 

Each collaboration has a theme and this time, the theme is "Time". 

I wanted to write something to accompany the picture that I submitted. I feel like I have so much to tell, but just don't know how to tell them. Then I found this quote and perfectly represents how I feel at the moment.

It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” ― Rose Kennedy
