I will offer a simple prayers
to the life bringers,
the givers of breath.

Thank you
for all you endured.
for the swollen belly
screaming that serenaded me
into existence.

For the stirring hands
and the soothing songs
and selfless sacrifice
to settle
any soul sickness.

We are all half you,
and all we have
is all you have given.

You are the dancing reminder
that sometimes
'thank you'
feels far too
small.
