Letters to My Daughter, September 2015
10 October 2015So...you applied to be a monitor person in your school and did a basket ball try out.
And....you didn't get both of them.
Suck! I know! In fact, double suck! (It's OK, you can swear for once this time).
But, not being picked up as a monitor person doesn't mean you are not good. It just means that you'll have time to focus on other things that are more important for you at school. Not passing the basket ball try out doesn't mean you can't play basket ball. It just means you have another year to practice and get better!
That's just life. You don't always get what you want. Not because you're not good enough. Sometimes it's not the right time yet. Other times, it's just not meant to be. Other times, it's a test to see if you really want it. Because if you really want something and you don't get it the first time, you'll learn from your mistake, make improvement, and then try again.
So don't worry, pickle. I see a determination in you and I will always remind you that you have that!
Jars of stars and oceans of love.
Debbie
